Bell House Holiday Show

Nothing says "Holiday Cheer" like a massive tree, some spiked egg nog, and a DVD representation of a fireplace. Matt and I will be attempting our best, "Little Drummer Boy" this Sunday at The Bell House for their "Peace On Earth" holiday party. We'll be joined by Jennifer O'Connor, Charlie Looker, Henry Gummer, Chris Garneau, Gram Smith, and a few others. Tickets are $5 and the venue will be collecting canned food and toys for the NY Food Bank and Toys For Tots.

Mixing in Brighton

In Brighton right now mixing the new record! David Ford has been nice enough to let us use his studio for a couple of days before we head up to London to finish her up. Been listening to a lot of Elliott Smith on this trip so far. I couldn't believe how cold it was here and that is the only thing that has warmed me up. (and a few meat pies from M&S) Lots more to tell you in regards to my Nashville trip and I will do another post about that in the next few weeks.

Nashville to NYC to London

I just finished reading The Beastly Beatitudes of Balthazar B by J. P. Donleavy. Man on man, what a great read. I was given tons of books by friends while recovering from heart surgery over the summer and this was one of them. Trying to pick out a new one from the pile for my flight to London in a few hours. Something by Tom Robbins maybe?

In Nashville recording and visiting friends. I really love this town. I moved down here in January while NYC and I were in a rough patch. There is no question I that I will find myself living here again sometime in the near future. For now though, NYC and I are in a good place and I can't wait to return home to her.

Tracking Complete!

Matt and Misty totally killed it yesterday at the studio. I'm really lucky to have those two on my side. 99 percent of the new record was recorded in Los Angeles but we had one day here in Brooklyn in order to do some keys, guitars, and vocals. After we finished tracking last night we headed off for a few celebratory drinks at a bar that friends of mine from Nashville used to run. We've worked our asses off on this new record so it was nice to be able to let our beards down for a second. Next step is mixing in London where Dave can smoke his beloved Silk Cuts once again. Anyone want to place bets on how many mince pies and bottles of Ribena I can consume while I'm there?
